David Kirby, senior manager at Lloyds treasury, has died from cancer, aged 32.

Kirby had worked at Lloydsfor a year and, before that, in capital markets execution at Barclays and at Nationwide Building Society. He is fondly remembered by those he worked with in the capital markets.

Kirby leaves behind a wife and son.

A memo from Lloyds at the time of his death paid tribute to him.

It said: "David joined Lloyds Bank in May 2017 in the Capital Markets Issuance team in Group Corporate Treasury. He made an immediate and lasting impression on his colleagues, not only for his industry expertise but also for his positive and engaging approach to everything he did.

"During his treatment, David's positivity and optimism were nothing less than inspirational to all those friends and colleagues who knew what he was going through. He will be sorely missed by a great many people."

Some of Kirby's former colleagues and friends will gather informally at a barbecue on Nomura's roof terrace on July 13 from 5pm to remember him.

Please RSVP to his former colleague at Nationwide, Rob Collins (Rob.Collins@nationwide.co.uk) if you wish to attend the barbecue.

A donation fund, the David Kirby Legacy Trust, set up principally to help his family, can be found at www.leetchi.com/c/the-david-kirby-legacy-trust.
