Absa looks to hire in DCM, syndicate

South Africa’s Absa is looking to establish a corporate and investment banking unit in London, and is actively in the process of hiring DCM and syndicate bankers, according to sources.

Barclays Africa Group, which will shortly be renamed Absa, is in the process of separating from Barclays Plc, which sold down its majority stake in the South African bank at the end of 2017.
