Samsung SDI scoops up $525m from C&T block

Korean battery maker Samsung SDI Co has raised W559.9bn ($525.2m) after offloading its stake in Samsung C&T Corp at the mid-point of guidance, according to sources close to the deal.

Bookrunners Citi and Credit Suisse launched an accelerated bookbuild for the block after Korean markets closed on Tuesday. The deal comprised 4.04m Samsung C&T Corporation shares, representing 2.1% of its equity capital. It was also the vendor’s entire position in the company.
