Belgium’s Green OLO to fund rail transport

Rail travel will be the centrepiece of the Belgian government’s green bonds, the framework for which was revealed on Thursday morning at meetings in Brussels.

“One of the important global challenges is greenhouse gas emissions reduction,” said Anne Leclercq, head of the Belgian debt agency in Brussels. “So if we promote mass transport through railways, it is a good way to reduce emissions.”
