European banks move down G-SIB ranks

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) made seven changes to its list of global systemically important banks (G-SIBs) on Monday, lowering capital requirements for BNP Paribas and Credit Suisse and removing Groupe BPCE from the list entirely.

G-SIBs are subject to group-wide resolution planning and must comply with a global standard for total-loss absorbing capacity (TLAC). The goal is to ensure that these banks can be resolved without risk to public funds.
