European Union debuts in Schuldschein market

The European Union has issued its first-ever Schuldschein, and may issue further such deals.

The EU approached several banks to arrange a Schuldschein loan, with a 15 year maturity and a fixed size of €13m.

NordLB won the mandate on Wednesday, and closed the transaction in a matter of hours. Unlike other Schuldschein deals, there was no marketing process or negotiation over documentation ...
