Two high-yield analysts and a trader, all formerly of DrKW-Grantchester, have taken positions at other firms. Grantchester made severe cutbacks to its high-yield business last year (BW, 12/15) and people from the shop have been popping up at several different firms ever since (1/29, 2/9, 3/9, 3/16).
Eric Gold (formerly Goldstein) has joined Forest Investment Management, a hedge fund. He was the top-ranked wireless telecommunications analyst on the Institutional Investor All-America Fixed-Income Research Team for the last four years. Gold says he spent just three days as a salesman at CRT Capital, but ultimately decided that what he termed an "experiment" was not for him. He says it was his mistake and that CRT officials were gracious about his change of heart.
The other moves, confirmed by a number of Grantchester alums, include Ziki Slav, a former technology analyst, who joins Marathon Asset Management, and Glenn Cira, a trader, who joins RW Pressprich & Co.
