CDC Loses Converts Traders In U.S.

Quincy Evans and Christophe Thomas, convertible arbitrage traders at CDC IXIS North America, have both left the firm. Evans will join hedge fund manager DKR Capital, according to an official familiar with the matter, while it could not be determined whether Thomas has as yet joined a competitor.

Both Evans and Thomas, neither of whom could be reached, joined CDC early last year to lead the firm's convertible arbitrage trading effort (DW, 4/7/02). Officials at DKR did not return calls.

David Askren, managing director and head of the corporate office in New York, confirmed the departures, adding that CDC has not yet decided whether or not the firm will replace the traders.
