HSBC plans to start offering credit derivatives in Taiwan in the coming months. An official at the firm said it will likely begin offering credit-linked products in Taiwan dollars within three-to-six months.
The official noted that while only a limited number of onshore transactions have thus far hit the market, there is a lot of potential. Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas and Crédit Lyonnais received the first batch of licenses last year (DW, 1/26).
