SEC, EU take divergent approach to ratings

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has extended for another year the exemption for non-US issuers from compliance with Rule 17g-5. This rule requires an ABS issuer to disclose relevant information to every ratings agency if it is seeking a rating from a US ratings agency.
