CDO Boss At J.P. Morgan Steps Aside

Romita Shetty, head of structured credit and alternative investments at J.P. Morgan Securities, has decided to leave the group, according to a banker familiar with the situation. Shetty declined to comment. Michael Dorfsman, a spokesman, said Shetty is considering a variety of options within J.P. Morgan and the firm is looking to place her accordingly.

The banker Shetty is expected to keep her position until the end of January or even mid-February to facilitate the transition. Shetty is in charge of J.P. Morgan's global collateralized debt obligation business. Dorfsman said J.P. Morgan is working on a replacement for Shetty.

Shetty's move is the latest in a line of changes within the structured finance group. Bill Demchak, global head of structured finance and credit portfolio, left in May (BW, 5/19). Michael Jungman, the head of theglobal commercial mortgage-backed securities business, alsoleft this summer.
