TD Securities has hired Phoebus Theologites, managing director in derivatives trading and structuring at CDC IXIS Capital Markets in London, and David Beever, managing director at Astin Capital Management and previously head of equity volatility trading at Barclays Capital in London, as global head of structuring and European head of liquid equity derivatives trading, respectively. The new roles reflect the increased volumes in those areas, according to Mark Wells, head of advanced equity products in London.
"There are likely to be a number of further additions, particularly in David Beever's group," he noted. Wells explained that previously product structuring at TD was managed by both the sales force and the equity derivatives trading desk. But the structuring business has now grown to a sufficient size to require individual focus.
