Rumours of the death of the European asset backed securities (ABS) market are much exaggerated. In the Netherlands, the market is alive and well, having been re-opened in December 2009 by Delta Lloyd with its Eu904.5m Arena 2009-1 transaction, which was soon followed by a Eu497.8m RMBS from Friesland Bank.
