Default rates fall sharply but could pick up in 2012
The default rate for speculative-grade companies in western Europe was 3.8% at the end of December 2010— below the 2003-2010 average of 4%, and down from 13.6% 12 months earlier, according to a report by Standard & Poor’s on Tuesday.
