Wayne Powless has joined Merrill Lynch as a director and corporate bond salesman. Powless moves over from Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was also a director and his clients included large insurance accounts. During a 13-year career on Wall Street, Powless had spent some six years at CSFB, according to a salesman close to him. Powless declined comment when reached on his mobile phone.
CSFB will likely replace Powless internally, according to an official there. Mark Landis, head of sales at CSFB declined comment, as did John Shaffer, Merrill's head of sales.
