Marjorie Gross

* Marjorie Gross recently joined The Bond Market Association as its new senior v.p. and regulatory counsel, replacing John Ramsay, who left the trade group and joined Citigroup Global Markets. Gross reports directly to Paul Saltzman, executive v.p. and general counsel at the dealer trade group. She previously worked at J.P. Morgan Securities as a managing director and associate general counsel. * Jay Fiacco, formerly a collateralized mortgage trader at J.P. Morgan Securities, has moved to Nomura Securities International as a director and senior derivatives trader. Fiacco is responsible for trading all mortgage derivative products and reports to Don Mackinnon, managing director and head of structured credit trading and asset finance.

* Jeffrey Kidwell, formerly of Morgan Stanley, joined Cantor Fitzgerald as a managing director and head of North American repos and financing. He reports to Irv Goldman, the ceo and president of Cantor's debt capital markets group. Kidwell replaces Walter Trevalja, who recently left Cantor for HSBC.

* 40/86 Advisors, which is the former Conseco Capital Management, announced several promotions, including to its portfolio management team. Those promoted include Michael Dunlop, a v.p. in charge of portfolio management and trading of structured assets; Jesse Horsfall, second v.p. and portfolio manager; and James Klusmeier, an assistant v.p. and analyst on the distressed securities team.

* Victoria Averbukh has left Citigroup Global Markets to join Deutsche Bank's mortgage research team, as a director responsible for collateralized mortgage obligation research and analysis. She will be based in New York and reports to Alexander Crawford, managing director and head of mortgage and cross-rates strategy.

* Dana Erikson took over responsibility for the high-yield portfolio at Evergreen Investments. He succeeds Prescott Crocker, who retired from the firm at the end of the February after serving as head of the high-yield team since 1997. Erikson, who previously was head of high-yield research, has been at Evergreen since 1996.

* Christopher Rodrigues, ceo of U.K. mortgage lender Bradford & Bingley, resigned last week and plans to join Visa later this month as president and ceo in San Francisco. Bradford & Bingley is among the U.K. residential mortgage originators planning to sell covered bonds and has tapped HSBC to underwrite the transaction. Steven Crenshaw, who is currently the director of lending and savings at Bradford & Bingley, will replace Rodrigues as ceo.

* George Colonias and Tara Mori joined Wachovia Bank as business development officers in its structured finance trust services group. They will cover trustee sales for asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities and document custody product lines throughout the East Coast and are based in New York and Charlotte, respectively. The positions are new.

* Jonathan David joined Barclays Capital as a director in fixed-income sales in New York. He reports to John Stathis, managing director and head of sales and research for the Americas. David will be responsible for short-term and middle market sales and will focus on developing the firm's distribution of rate and credit products to short-duration and middle-market investors.

* Merrill Lynch hired Andrew Seiz to head its Pacific Rim credit research in Hong Kong. Seiz, formerly a U.S. and Japanese bank analyst at Goldman Sachs, will oversee the Hong Kong and Tokyo research teams and be responsible for credit analysis of Japanese banks. Seiz was ranked second on Institutional Investor magazine's 2003 All-America Fixed-Income Research Team. Seiz will report to Chris Francis, head of international credit research.

* Jeffrey Vanderbeek, a member of the executive committee of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., is leaving the firm to buy and run the New Jersey Devils ice hockey team. Vanderbeek has been at Lehman for 20 years, most recently in charge of risk management. He ran the fixed-income and equity capital markets groups from 2000 to 2002.

* HSBC hired Rod Prat from Deutsche Bank as head of sales for its global markets unit, including debt, currencies and stocks in Europe and the Middle East. Prat joins the London office on May 31. He headed up fixed-income sales at Deutsche Bank, and worked at Goldman Sachs from 1993 to 2002 prior to that.

* Carl Faker, a European fixed-income salesman at Morgan Stanley in London, recently left the firm and is thought to be headed for a similar role at Goldman Sachs.
