Justin Fox, director in structured finance at Merrill Lynch in London, is headed to Nationwide, the U.K.'s largest thrift. Fox will start as assistant treasurer for funding in early September, according to Frank Creighton, spokesman at Nationwide. Fox will head up wholesale funding and report to Jeremy Wood, divisional director of treasury, replacing Andy Hutchinson, who has taken on responsibility for property management at Nationwide.
At Merrill, Fox reported to Dale Lattanzio, head of global principal investment and secured financing for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Lattanzio referred calls to Patrick Meyer, spokesman, who declined comment.
Bankers familiar with the team at Merrill speculated Fox's departure would mean additional responsibilities for Daniel Pace and Tim Loughlin, two senior members of the asset finance team. Officials at Merrill said in addition to a reshuffling of responsibilities, several new hires are imminent. Pace and Loughlin declined comment.
