UBS Loses One, Hires One, Moves One

UBS lost one loan salesman and hired a new loan saleswoman to work in syndicated loans and mezzanine finance.

UBS lost one loan salesman and hired a new loan saleswoman to work in syndicated loans and mezzanine finance. John Gorham, who reported to Kevin Latimer, managing director and head of U.S. par loan sales, has left UBS. It is unknown if he will be replaced. Aimee Evans joined the bank last Monday and reports to Latimer. She replaces Teresa DeBenedictis, who has moved to London, where she will be selling syndicated loans and mezzanine debt in Europe. A UBS spokesman declined to comment about the departure. Gorham did not return an email.

DeBenedictis will report to Brendan Dillon, managing director and global head of par and distressed loans and mezzanine debt. She is expected to start in London at the end of the month. Dillon declined to comment about the moves.

One market source said the hire was part of a general growth strategy UBS has planned for its leveraged finance group, both in the U.S. and in Europe. Moving DeBenedictis across the pond was viewed as a good opportunity for her and will help bolster the business over there. She previously reported to Latimer. Evans will be a director and work out of Stamford, Conn. She joins UBS from SG Cowen. Gorham joined UBS from Bank of America and previously worked at what was then, Bankers Trust.
