Bank of America has hired Emmanuel Slezack, senior equity index trader at JPMorgan in London. The hire follows its move to rebuild its European equity derivatives business in October with Jerome Drean from Banque AIG spearheading the effort (DW, 10/15). Drean declined comment and Slezack could not be reached.
The bank will likely add four or five more traders as well as marketers, according to a City official. BofA is focusing its business on exotic equity derivative sales to hedge funds and on structured products, he added. Sarah Oppler, spokeswoman at JPMorgan in London, said Slezack will be replaced, but declined to comment further.
