Deutsche Bank Hires Ex-Merrill Pro For Top Credit Role

Deutsche Bank has tapped Moez Ben-Zid, formerly co-head of structured credit marketing at Merrill Lynch, as head of structured credit trading and distribution in London.

Deutsche Bank has tapped Moez Ben-Zid, formerly co-head of structured credit marketing at Merrill Lynch, as head of structured credit trading and distribution in London.

As first reported on DW's Web site, Stacey Coglan, spokeswoman for Deutsche Bank in London, said Ben-Zid reports to Antonio Di Flumeri, co-head of global structured credit trading and European head of credit derivatives. She was unable to say if the role was a new one. Ben-Zid did not answer calls to his desk at Deutsche Bank or to his cell phone.

Ben-Zid quit Merrill in May (DW, 5/26) and has followed in the footsteps of his former Merrill colleague Malik Chaabouni, who joined Deutsche Bank in a structured credit role in February (DW, 2/10). The pair also worked together at JPMorgan prior to joining Merrill in early 2005 (DW, 2/18/05).

In addition, Ramez Attieh, a v.p in Middle Eastern fixed income derivatives marketing at Merrill Lynch in London, has quit and market buzz also has him jumping to Deutsche Bank. It could not be determined if the move is connected to Ben-Zid's. Alex Walker, spokeswoman at Merrill, confirmed Attieh's departure, but was unable to comment on whom he reported to. Coglan declined comment. Attieh is no longer at Merrill and could not be reached for comment.
