Many loan market participants had a year to forget in 2008. A dearth of deals, especially after the collapse of Lehman Brothers in September, meant that underwriting and syndication became almost impossible by the end of the year. However, there were opportunties for the brave and the skillful to show their leadership. Below are the nominations (in alphabetical order) for the best banks, investors, borrowers and deals as voted for by the market in a poll undertaken by EuroWeek’s loan team in November and December last year. The winners will be announced at the EuroWeek Loans and Leveraged Finance Awards dinner on February 3 2009.
