ANZ raises $1bn as buyers warm to first NZ-backed bonds
ANZ National sold $1bn of three year notes late last week in the first international bond guaranteed by the New Zealand government, introducing investors to a new government-backed product with an encouraging debut.
The deal was welcomed by investors across the world and ANZ could have raised even more after drawing around $1.5bn of orders. The bonds were placed with investors in the US, Europe and Asia, with Asian investors taking around 30% of the deal.
