Bank of England leads SSAs out of darkness with $2bn benchmark
The Bank of England this week launched what is being called the most important sovereign, supranational and agency deal yet this year, a $2bn three year issue that provides the sector with a crucial reference point in uncertain times.
Coming after a period when SSAs have struggled to find direction, the benchmark the Banks annual visit to the dollar market to finance its foreign exchange reserves buoyed the asset class, with spreads tightening and other issuers able to follow in its slipstream.
