New cap markets chief for Lloyds

Ian Fitzgerald, one of the European loan market’s best known faces, has been asked to take charge of Lloyds TSB’s new capital markets division following his bank’s merger with HBOS.

However, Fitzgerald, who is also head of loan syndicate at the UK bank, will only run the capital markets division until Lloyds has found a suitable external candidate. He will then revert to head of loan syndicate.
