Stop-go bank bonds start new cycle as Deutsche, GCE deliver
Financial institution bond markets sprang back into action this week with the first European senior unsecured deal in five weeks, the first Eu1bn covered bond in that time and the first US dollar issue in two weeks as credit and equity markets turned positive on Thursday.
But, with markets still volatile and public holidays approaching in the US and UK, bankers were far from overexcited about the prospects for further supply and worried that the momentum could be lost.
