Treasury trials corporate finance revolution
A reinvention of UK corporate finance, including small cap securitisations, a Post Office Bank and regional stock exchanges, is on the cards after the UK Treasury and Department for Business, Innovation and Skills laid out plans this week to increase funding of British businesses — especially small and mid cap companies.
The Financing a private sector recovery green paper seeks to increase the availability of finance without cheapening credit.
Securitisation is among the options, even for smaller enterprises with turnovers of under £25m. These have only limited access to the equity markets and cannot raise funds through private placements
