KGI, CNS latest in loans as Taiwan market keeps up pace

KGI Securities raised NT$5bn in Taiwan’s loan market, underlining its strong liquidity following a NT$31.35bn deal for China Network Systems, at the end of last week.

KGI, a Taiwanese brokerage, signed a NT$5bn revolver on Tuesday with five banks, helping it raise money for working capital purposes. It was the latest in a long line of borrowers to have tapped Taiwan’s fast growing loan market, where volumes jumped 455% in the first quarter.
