LMA outlook upbeat for European loans

Heads of syndication are optimistic about the market’s recovery in the long term, the Loan Market Association’s annual conference heard on Thursday.

"It was looking rather desperate last year," Julian van Kan, global head of loan syndications and trading at BNP Paribas, told the conference, adding that conditions were improving. "The activity in loans is outstripping corporate bonds, so the loan market is certainly not dead."
