RWE signs Eu4bn refi with scalebacks

German utility RWE has completed a Eu4bn five year plus one plus one revolver after lenders had their commitments to the refinancing deal scaled back.

“This was substantially oversubscribed,” said a banker close to the deal. “The deal was a great success.”

Market participants not working on the transaction called it “a real blowout of a deal”.
