Kazmunaigas mandates for underwritten deal

Kazakh sovereign proxy Kazmunaigas has mandated BTMU, ING, Natixis and RBS as bookrunners on its $1bn five year underwritten refinancing loan. The deal will be launched into syndication in May, according to a loans banker close to the transaction.

Kazakh borrowers were shut out from the market after the country’s banking sector fell into turmoil during the global credit crisis. But London-listed mining firm Eurasian Natural Resources Corp (ENRC) reopened the loan market for borrowers from Kazakhstan when it signed a $500m one year revolver in March. ...
