Platinum Group funds mine with PF loan

South Africa’s Platinum Group Metals has mandated Barclays Capital through Absa Capital, Caterpillar Financial, Standard Bank and WestLB to lead a $260m nine year project financing deal.

The loan will finance the development of its Western Bushveld joint venture project platinum mine. As well as the $260m project finance loan, the lenders have agreed to provide a $25m working capital facilty and a standby subordinate loan facility in case of cost overruns.
