Credit default swaps on U.S. corporate bonds dropped to their lowest level since Aug. 10. Barclays Capital reported that the Markit CDX North America Investment Grade Index slipped 4 basis points to a midprice of 107 bps. Stock rallies and record bond sales helped reduce concern about refinancing.
