Thomas Cook Group suffered a calamitous 75% fall in its share price on Tuesday after warning of deteriorating trading conditions, perhaps putting it beyond the point where an emergency rights issue could find support. With European companies reporting mixed third quarter results and the economic environment worsening, firms facing difficulties should start talking to shareholders at the earliest opportunity, said bankers.
