Maxis leads Asian IPO surge

The Malaysian mobile firm launched south-east Asia’s largest IPO to date, one of nine debuts in Asia last week. Debt and M&A markets also showed life. Asiamoney.com rounds up last week’s regional capital market activity.

IPO activity in the Asia-Pacific ex-Japan region continued to soar last week with nine new deals worth a total of US$7 billion, according to data provider Dealogic.

This made up the bulk of the US$8 billion transacted in the region’s equity capital markets from November 9 to November 13.
