Sarasin hires Barki as south-east Asia head

The bank named Grace Barki as a vice-chairman and head of south-east Asia, replacing Reto Marx. She had been managing the Indonesia and Philippines markets for UBS, which has lost nine of its staff to Sarasin recently.

Bank Sarasin has hired Grace Barki from UBS as a vice-chairman and head of south-east Asia at its Singapore subsidiary.

Effectively she replaces Reto Marx, who quit as Sarasin’s south-east Asia head in October, although as vice-chairman she is now more senior.
