US expects busy summer of Yankee bonds after Unilever hit
August could see a spate of Yankee bond issues by European companies, bankers believe, after Unilever yesterday achieved record low coupons for dollar corporate bonds of three and five years.
August tends to be active in the US market, but were expecting to see an added degree of supply from corporates because of the very low funding costs available, said Marcus Hiseman, head of European corporate fixed income capital markets at Morgan Stanley in London.
