SG and Axa’s SME finance JV begins with a big fish: Sonepar

Société Générale and Axa have signed their first euro private placement, under a partnership they set up in June.

Sonepar, the family-owned French electrical equipment wholesaler, is the borrower under the deal. SG and Axa did not reveal the size or any other details of the financing.

The company is unlisted, unrated and has never issued a bond, according to Dealogic.
