Mediclinic completes R5bn rights issue
Mediclinic’s R5bn ($568m) rights issue was 99.7% subscribed, the company said on Monday. The South African private healthcare company, which is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, will use proceeds from the deal to support a R28bn loan refinancing.
The offer closed on Friday, and new shares were issued on Monday. The remaining 0.3% of the offer, 475,093 shares, will be allocated to shareholders who applied for excess shares.
Mediclinic offered a total of 174.6m shares. Shareholders could buy 26.77 shares at R28.63 each for every 100 held.
