Cash-rich corporates set to expand, says Moody’s

Asian corporates are keen to expand their businesses either through internal investment or M&A. However, the majority of free cash is concentrated among the top 15 names in the region, say Moody’s.

Non-financial corporates in Asia have increased their cash balance sheets by a huge 60% since the end of 2008, according to Moody’s research. The ratings agency believes the burgeoning stockpiles are less a reaction to the global credit conditions and more to support acquisitions and overall growth.
