ThyssenKrupp’s €1.25bn shows appeal of Germany plus yield

Europe’s corporate bond market cracked back into life today after a very slow patch last week, with substantial issues for ThyssenKrupp and Unibail-Rodamco.

The German steel and engineering group has had a tough year since its last deal, a €1.25bn five year sold almost exactly a year ago, on February 21, 2012.

At that stage its ratings were Baa3/BB+/BBB- (all stable), but since then Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s have both downgraded ...
