A Shariah compliant underwriting agency has launched in London. Backers say it is the first of its kind and a game changer for Islamic capital markets.

Cobalt Underwriting, based in the Lloyd’s building, is backed by investment from Capita and the Bank of London and the Middle East. It aims to provide insurance and reinsurance products to businesses worldwide.
