UBS bankers on leave of absence pending hiring investigation
UBS has placed two Asian capital markets bankers on a leave of absence ahead of an internal inquiry into the hiring of Joyce Wei, daughter of the chairman at Chinese private company Tianhe Chemicals.
Joseph Chee, head of global capital markets for Asia and Sharlyn Wu, who works on his team, were put on leave last week. No other bankers are likely to be suspended in relation to the investigation, according to someone with knowledge of the matter.
