Institutional seller joins Alchemy for £94m Countrywide sale
Two investors raised a combined £94m from sales of shares in UK estate agency Countrywide on Thursday night, with an unnamed institutional investor joining the deal after the sale was launched by private equity owner Alchemy.
The deal was launched by sole bookrunner Jefferies shortly after the market close on Thursday, with guidance that Alchemy would sell 12.9m shares, a 5.9% stake in the company and its entire holding. Countrywide’s other two private equity sponsors — Apollo and Oaktree — sold 16% of
